Sonya Pendrey believes words change the world. A radical writer, educator, ecologist, and current Creative in Residence at The Ruby, she presently teaches, writes, and teaches writing with love in San Francisco. They are a recipient of the 2025 Robin Seaman Award from Bay Area Women in Publishing, as well as a former nonfiction editor of Invisible City Literary Journal and intern at Zyzzyva. Endemic to the Bay Area, Sonya’s affinity for urban socio-ecology is apparent in published poems and paintings. Their work is dedicated to the sweetest pup, Lily.
